This weekend saw the culmination of 3 months of hard work and learning new skills for 18 Cadets from 25, 40F and 1404 Squadron. Over this weekend, the Cadets have undertaken their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Expedition involving the planning their route, navigation and walking of a 26km route, cooking meals and all with an overnight (& very damp) camp.

We are very proud to say all 18 Cadets, achieved the standards required and successfully passed.

Behind the scenes the Cadets have been supported, this weekend, by 10 staff from across the Squadrons. The staff team have acted as assesors, first aid cover, drivers and safety supervisors ensuring the safety and welfare of the Cadets.

Additionally, over the last 3 months the cadet’s training has been conducted by 5 members of staff who have been undertaking the nationally recognised Lowland Leader Award, this team could not make this weekend themselves, as they have been on The South Downs this weekend undertaking their very own final assessment.

Well done All and an amazing achievement by all involved!!!!!

The squadron join other Medway Squadrons plus those from Gravesend and Ditton for the Battle of Britian Parade in Brompton. Cadets and staff help form the Banner Party, Band and the Parade for the evening. After a short parade, the cadets then entered the church where our own Padre Rev Linney help conduct the service. Good to see some many cadets take part, many in uniform for the first time and even their first formal parade. The band played especially well many from each squadron playing together for the first time also.
